#BREAKING NEWS:IKAGENG KILLER FINALLY ARRESTED

The boyfriend who allegedly stabbed his 33-year-old girlfriend to death in Ikageng near Potchefstroom on Saturday night has been arrested on Sunday, 27 September 2026.

The woman was killed at about 7pm on Saturday, 26 September, after an argument at his home. He allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her, then ran away.

Earlier, North West police spokesman Captain Majang Skalkie had confirmed that a murder case was opened and cops were searching for the suspect.

But tonight, police have confirmed that the suspect is now in custody.

Full details of the arrest will be released tomorrow, and police are set to release more details on Monday.

This murder comes just a week after the community was left in tears when 9-year-old Karabelo “Mmeke” Seripe was found dead at Sarafina Sports Ground in Ikageng after she went missing for a day. Karabelo was allegedly raped and murdered. Her killer is still not arrested.

Residents say they are tired of violence against women and children.
