A 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Jouberton near Klerksdorp in the North West.
North West police confirmed that Palesa Baepi (32) was found dead with a stab wound in Extension 12, Jouberton, on the morning of Sunday, 8 March 2026.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele said officers responded to a complaint of murder earlier that morning.
“Police received a complaint of murder in Jouberton Extension 12. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the body of a female lying on the ground with a stab wound. Emergency Medical Rescue Services declared her dead at the scene,” Mbele said.
She said a 30-year-old Nondoda Mjaleni man was arrested in connection with the murder.
Mjaleni has since made his first court appearance at the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody until 17 March 2026 for a formal bail application.
The killing has once again raised alarm about the growing scourge of gender-based violence in the City of Matlosana municipality.
