Residents in Kanana near Orkney outside Klerksdorp in Matlosana Local Municipality in the North West have been warned to brace for a planned water shutdown.
The planned watershedding is set for Friday, 13 February 2026. This as the Municipality undertakes maintenance work on a major water line.
According to the municipal spokesperson, Ntswaki Makgetha, the water supply will be interrupted from 7am to 5pm due to maintenance on the 315mm main line at the Kanana Reservoir. The shutdown will affect Kanana Extensions 5, 6, 13 and 14.
