Former ANC Councillor (Cllr) in Kanana near Orkney outside Klerksdorp in the North West was killed this morning, on 28 November 2025. Tebogo Sepale(45) was found with a gunshot wound on his head in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police spokesperson Adéle Myburgh said Sepale’s body was found by a passer-by at around 3am on the sidewalk near the Kanana Stadium in Matlosana, close to Orkney.
Myburgh said the police have since launched a manhunt for those who might be involved.
“Initial investigations indicate that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head,” Myburgh confirmed.

Police have appealed to the public for assistance. Anyone with information that may help the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sgt Vusi Radebe, on 018 476 4650, or the Kanana Police Station at 060 997 3145.

Sepale was previously acquitted on charges of rape and Sexual assault after he was nabbed by the police.
He was later slapped with eleven charges: two for statutory rape, three for the violation of a child, one for manufacturing pornographic material, four for rape and one of sexual intimidation.
