Former SA president’s daughter faces trafficking case

The eldest Daughter of former South African(SA) President Jacob Zuma has opened a case against her youngest sister for the alleged violation of several SA laws. The SAPS has confirmed that a woman, identified as Nkosazana Bonganini Zuma-Mncube, has opened a case at the Sandton Police Station against Dudu Sambudla Zuma.

The eldest daughter of the former SA states man Zuma-Mncube is calling for an investigation into allegations involving 17 South African men reportedly trapped in the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to SAPS national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, Zuma-Mncube filed an affidavit requesting police to investigate Sambudla- Zuma, another person identified as Siphokasi Xuma and Blessing Khosa.

She alleges that the group of men were enticed to travel to Russia under false pretences before being handed over to a Russian mercenary outfit and forced to participate in the ongoing conflict without their consent.

Meanwhile in her statement dipossed today the woman said Zuma-Mncube as a South African citizen and the first-born daughter to former President Jacob Zuma wish to address the matter of the 17 South African men who are trapped in the midst of the Ukraine/Russian War.

“These men were lured to Russia under false pretences and handed to a Russian mercenary group to fight in the Ukraine war without their knowledge or consent. Among these 17 men, who are requesting the South African government for assistance, are eight of my family members.

Driven by my moral obligation I have opened a criminal case at the Sandton Police Station on 22 November 2025 at approximately 18:30, ” she said.

Zuma Mncube further said that having considered all the information available to me and the facts at my disposal, she believe the three individuals have contravened the laws of prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons ActRegulation of Foreign Military Assistance Act and Common Law Act of Fraud

She since urged the SA government to expedite all diplomatic efforts to secure the immediate and safe return of our citizens.

“Furthermore, I call on all South Africans to be vigilant and not fall prey to individuals offering too-good-to-be-true opportunities abroad, especially those involving travel to conflict zones, “she added.

However, Mathe confirmed that an enquiry docket has been registered, noting that the exact charges will be determined once a comprehensive investigation has been concluded.

The matter has been escalated and will be investigated at a provincial level.
