QwaQwa – The body of a 49-year-old man from Mangaung Village, QwaQwa, who went missing on Sunday, 16 November 2025, has been found.
The Free State police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring said police in Namahadi have confirmed that the remains of Winner Heavenly Tandise Mphuthi were recovered on Tuesday afternoon, 18 November 2023 25. The discovery was made at around 14:30 in the Kgoptjane River with the assistance of a specialised rescue team.
Mophiring said Professional diver Sergeant Mabe from Phuthaditjhaba led the operation alongside Mr R.M. Letsika, Mr M.N. Motate, and Mr M.M. Maduna from the Maluti-A-Phofung Fire Department Rescue Team.
Police have not yet released further details on the circumstances leading to Mphuthi’s disappearance. An inquest docket has been opened.
