Disbarred advocate (Adv) Malesela Teffo has sent a fiery WhatsApp message to SAPS National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe following the dramatic questioning of several suspects accused of plotting to murder the judge and prosecutor in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

In the message, Teffo accused Mathe of spreading “conspiracy propaganda,” and claimed that Constable Bongani Gininda and former junior prosecutor Adv. Baloyi “deserve to be arrested.” Teffo previously represented some of the accused in the long-running murder case.

Teffo was struck off the roll of advocates by the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria in 2022 after the court found that he lacked responsibility, honesty and integrity.

News Junction earlier reported that the SAPS has confirmed a conspiracy to commit murder investigation linked to the ongoing Meyiwa trial. In a statement, Mathe said police had received “solid intelligence” indicating that a group of individuals has been attending the trial with the intention of targeting key state role-players.

A group of people who were in court on Tuesday morning were taken in for questioning and profiling.

Mathe said security around the trial has been intensified and intelligence units remain on high alert. “All steps taken are to eliminate the threat and to protect and save lives,” she said.
