MARCH AND MARCH LEADERS FACE ARREST?

Staff Writer / Wed, 14 October 2026

The March and March Movement says its top leaders are about to be arrested – just weeks before the Local Government Elections.

In a statement released on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, the Movement’s national spokesperson Sandile Dube claims a warrant of arrest has been issued by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for its founder and leader Mrs Jacinta MaNgobese Zuma and SA First Forum Acting CEO Mr Xolani Zuma.

Dube said the arrest must happen on or before Friday, 16 October 2026.

National Spokesperson Sandile Dube says prison beds have already been prepared!

“The March and March Movement notes with grave concern reports that a warrant of arrest has been issued by the NPA to arrest our leaders. Maximum prison beds have already been prepared to detain citizen activists in an effort to cause civil unrest and disrupt the upcoming 04 November 2026 Local Government Elections, “he said.

They claim they knew three months ago about a meeting to discuss whether to arrest leaders before or after elections.

The Movement is pointing fingers at the Presidency.

“This reckless, politically motivated move is a deliberate strategy from the Presidency to plunge the country into chaos, intimidate civil society, and avoid political embarrassment faced by the former ruling party ahead of the November elections. President Cyril Ramaphosa must publicly distance himself from this reckless move. Dube added.

They also slammed IFP Premier Thami Ntuli and ANC leadership for deploying forces against peaceful citizens and arresting activists, including students.

But the Movement says they will not stop marching!

“We are being intimidated for fighting for what is just and noble. We will continue to expose government failures in border security and systemic corruption. We call on our people to remain focused and continue to march peacefully until victory is achieved.” he further aded

The Movement is demanding big action from government:

  • Immediate deportation of all illegal foreign nationals,
  • Amendment of laws to allow Border Management Authority to operate inland,
  • Declaring illegal immigration a National Disaster,
  • Reserving township and informal economy for South African small businesses only.

Instead of arresting activists, they want SANDF soldiers to fight Zama Zamas in hotspots including Johannesburg, Roodepoort, Stilfontein, Barberton, eMalahleni, Welkom, Burgersfort and Kleinzee!

The Movement said it will continue with its Thursday peaceful marches to pressure government to prioritize South Africans, secure borders, and restore law and order.
