PUPILS RUN WILD, DEMAND PRINCIPAL GO!

Chaos erupted at Are-Fadimeheng Secondary School in Jouberton near Klerksdorp in the North West when angry pupils and community members shut down learning on Monday, 16 March 2026.

The fuming crowd stormed the school, demanding the immediate removal of the principal over a string of serious allegations.

Teaching and learning came to a complete standstill as tensions boiled over.

Cops had to rush to the scene and escort the principal out of the school for safety as the situation spiralled out of control.

North West Education MEC, Viola Motsumi, didn’t hold back – blasting the disruption and calling for calm.

“I wish to condemn the disruption of teaching and learning that occurred at this school. I always encourage peaceful engagement whenever conflicts arise; violence is never the solution,” said Motsumi.

The department revealed the school has been battling ongoing конфликт between pupils and staff.

Last year, a special team led by Superintendent-General Lengane Bogatsu was sent in to investigate the problems, with several allegations hanging over the principal’s head.

Motsumi said a full report will soon be released after all parties are consulted.

Meanwhile, the principal has been told to stay away from the school and report to the Local Area Office while investigations continue.

On Tuesday, calm returned as pupils went back to class and lessons resumed.
