Police in the North West have launched a public appeal for assistance in tracing a 49-year-old Rwandan National residing Klerksdorp in Matlosana Local Municipality.

The man has been missing for more than two weeks, with authorities saying all investigative leads have so far been exhausted.

The SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone confirmed that police are searching for Emmanuel Jackson Kigeri who was last heard from on 10 December 2025.

“The South African Police Service is requesting the community’s assistance in locating Mr Emmanuel Jackson Kigeri, who went missing under unexplained circumstances,” Mokgwabone said.

According to Mokgwabone, Kigeri was last in contact with his fiancée on Wednesday, 10 December, at around 14:00, when he told her that he was travelling to Potchefstroom.

She attempted to contact him again at approximately 16:00, but his phone rang unanswered and later went to voicemail. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Kigeri resides at 08 Fuller Street, Ella Street, Klerksdorp. Police say immediate search efforts were conducted in surrounding areas following his disappearance, but these yielded no results. Further extensive investigations and follow-ups on various leads have also failed to locate him.

At the time he went missing, Kigeri was wearing a white shirt, khaki trousers, brown shoes and a brown belt. He is described as dark in complexion, well-built, approximately 1.8 metres tall, bald, with a black unshaven beard and moustache.

Police have urged anyone who may have seen Kigeri or who has information that could assist in locating him to come forward.

Members of the public can contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Chabetsana Maine, on 063 571 1599, their nearest police station, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can also be submitted via the MySAPS App.

Anyone with information is encouraged to assist, as police continue efforts to bring clarity to Kigeri’s disappearance.
